“There is nothing politically right that is morally
wrong” Daniel O’Connell
Trudeau got lots of criticism for his abortion attestation. And
Andrew Scheer had this to say about it:
"I believe that
the federal government should respect the freedoms that Canadians enjoy to have
different beliefs and that by imposing personal values of Justin Trudeau on a
wide variety of groups is not an appropriate way to go...We have concerns with
the way this Liberal government is treating people with different opinions on
different issues."
Now Andrew Scheer appears to be doing something similar as
Trudeau did. A CBC News article of August 25, 2018 had this headline: “Scheer firm on leaving abortion debate
closed”
The article went on to quote Scheer as saying:
“I have made it very
clear, I will not reopen these types of divisive social issues.”
The article said, “One
of the policy resolutions put to a vote Saturday afternoon at the Conservative
Party convention dealt with the party's line on abortion legislation...While
factions of the Opposition party are pro-life, former prime minister Stephen
Harper and now Scheer both refused to reopen the legislation.”
And consider this report:
“Conservative deputy
leader Lisa Raitt said she was relieved to see a proposal that could have
reopened the abortion debate in Canada
narrowly defeated at the party’s policy convention on Saturday.
“Ms. Raitt said
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer made a promise during last year’s leadership
race that he would not bring forward any government legislation on the subject.
“‘It was a great
thing for the party,’ Ms. Raitt told the Globe after the vote.
“Andrew made a clear
promise, that people relied upon, that a government of Conservative members
would not introduce abortion legislation. Very important to me. And we’re not
going to go back on it.”
I believe that when it comes to abortion, Andrew Scheer is
starting to sound like a clone of Justin Trudeau or Stephen Harper:
“As long as I am prime minister we are not opening the
abortion debate” Stephen Harper, quoted in Globe and Mail, April 21, 2011
“Anti-abortion
candidates need not apply in 2015, Justin Trudeau says”
People should be very concerned. If Andrew Scheer can declare
that he will not “reopen” the abortion issue then what other issues will he be
closed to by making a “promise”?
“Nice” isn’t it? Politicians can make “promises” among themselves and to hell
with the people of the country! Has Canada become a dirty political
dictatorship?
In a supposed democracy one would think that all issues
would be up for discussion and debate. We have no law on abortion in this country;
the baby can be slaughtered right up to the moment of birth. A woman’s “right
to choose” rolling off the tongues of slippery politicians makes this heinous act
of slaughtering vulnerable pre-born human beings sound like something on a
menu. So what does it really mean? Well, what the politicians don’t like to do
is go into detail about this heinous act.
But the reality is, supporting “choice” on abortion actually means cutting the
pre-born to pieces, suctioning their bodies apart, or injecting potassium chloride
into their hearts. Other pre-born children are murdered by having the back of
their necks pierced by sharp scissors and their brains suctioned out (partial
birth abortion). Some have been born alive but are left to die. [1] [1a] Barbarity is being practiced
and human sacrifices are made. This is the heinous atrocity disguised under the
political slogan of a “woman’s right to choose,” and is parroted by ethically
and democratically challenged politicians.
Surely the most important issue in the next federal election
should be the obscene lawless killing of the child in the womb under the banner
of “choice." There is no law on this abominable act of slaughter in Canada and the
leaders of all the prominent political parties travelling the country will be
begging for votes. I believe all are complicit in this bloodstained atrocity
called abortion, and are acting like tin pot dictators. Parliament is the place
where laws are made and these leaders and others before them chose to ignore or
suppress the sanctity of human life and instead parroted the banal slogan
called “freedom of choice" to kill. And so the massive killing continues
at a rate of over 100,000 innocent lives snuffed out yearly in the country’s
abortion chambers. Where are their ethics and principles on protecting human
life? Where are their morals? Where is so-called Canadian democracy? What are
politicians afraid of? Or are they all “morally corrupt”?
"We can easily
forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men
[and women] are afraid of the light." – Plato
“Despotic power is
always accompanied by corruption of morality.” Lord Acton
Stephen J. Gray
