Are we seeing a “ganging up” against Motion 312?

Are we seeing a “ganging up” against Motion 312?
By Stephen J. Gray

“gang up… an act of ganging up or uniting in opposition to someone or something”

Motion 312
“That a special committee of the House be appointed and directed to review the declaration in Subsection 223(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada which states that a child becomes a human being only at the moment of complete birth and to answer the questions hereinafter set forth;…” [1] (emphasis added)

M.P. Stephen Woodworth’s motion on “when human life begins” has caused an uproar and a frenzy of condemnation and opposition by many politicians, trade union bosses, radical feminists, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), Canadian gynaecologists and others. What are they all afraid of? Are they terrified of the truth?

"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." – Plato

Medical and scientific journals tell us that life begins at conception. And anybody who has ever watched their unborn child move around in an ultra sound knows that this is a human life. Doctors even operate on the child in the womb if there is a problem that needs to be fixed. See link below:

And then you have the abortionists who slaughter the babies who “need” to be killed if unwanted. What a sick society we have become. We even call the killing of these innocents “freedom of choice.” Surely that is a perversion of words and speech!
See the atrocities committed on the innocents here: www.unmaskingchoice.ca

And then you have a “pro-life MP” who supports motion 312, but also reportedly “supports the ‘government position’ to not introduce the ‘issue of abortion.’”

“Where the speech is corrupted, the mind is also.” –Seneca

One has to wonder what is going on in the “brains” of this collection of strange bedfellows: Conservatives, Liberals, NDPers, union bosses, radical feminists and doctors opposed to discussing “when life begins.”

The CMA is opposed to motion 312 and never asked all their members before taking their bizarre stand against it. Journalist Brian Lilley at Sun News had an excellent article on his blog headlined: “I can’t believe these people are doctors” and wrote this about the CMA:

“There is a simple reason a group of doctors would not want such a debate. The science is clear, life begins at conception. Abortion ends a human life.” [2]

Of course thinking people know that and those in positions of power should know that. But, when it comes to taking a principled and honest position, many run from the medical and scientific evidence, their ethics (if they have any) and their responsibility to investigate and debate this subject.

In fact, any talk about discussing “when human life begins” appears to have our “science based” P.M. Stephen Harper running for cover. He is on record as saying: "In my case, I will be voting against the motion.” I guess his views on “science based” evidence only apply when he wants to look politically good. The Toronto Star of August 21, 2012 had the headline: “Stephen Harper wants to streamline environmental oversight,” the article quoted Mr. Harper as saying,

We need thorough, balanced science-based assessments conducted on a timely basis according to the principle of one project, one review,” Harper said. [3]

Well, Mr. Harper, here is one project that needs a “review”: when life begins. Yet, you and other politicians and medical professionals, along with union bosses who claim to speak for all their compulsory members, wish to stop any discussion on “when human life begins.”

This can only mean you are all afraid of free speech and of facing up to the truth, which is, “science based,” that life begins at conception. And that would mean all of those opposed are guilty of self imposed ignorance to protect the abomination called “choice” on killing by abortion. Truly, there are none as blind as those who do not wish to see. I believe the quote below aptly sums up what is happening in our country today:

“The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it.”
Albert Einstein
